To Install/Update Google Chrome 39.0.2171.95 on Ubuntu 15.04 vivid Vervet, ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr (LTS), Ubuntu 13.10/13.04/12.04, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Peppermint Five, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0, Linux Lite 2.2 and other Ubuntu derivative systems, open a new Terminal window and bash (get it?) in the following commands:

wget -c https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb

sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb

wget -c https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

In case “dpkg” indicates missing dependencies, complete the installation by executing the following command:

sudo apt-get install -f

Install Google Chrome 39.0.2171.95 stable on CentOS 6.5, CentOS 7, openSUSE 13.2, openSUSE 13.1, openSUSE 12.3/12.2/12.1, Fedora 21, Fedora 20, Fedora 19, Fedora 18:

OpenSUSE 32 bit :

Fedora 32 bit :

wget -c https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_i386.rpm
sudo yum install google-chrome-stable_current_i386.rpm

Fedora 64 bit :

wget -c https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm
sudo yun install google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm
