Unity 7 Gets Its Own LockScreen [Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr]
Yet another interesting Unity 7 change will make it into Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr: Unity will get its own lockscreen.

The new Unity lockscreen was implemented by Andrea Azzarone and is designed to look like the Unity Greeter.
Also, the new lockscreen allows a LightDM + Greeter fallback "in case you need more pam power" (because accessibility is not fully implemented yet), mentions the merge request description.
