Why Can't I Connect? is an open source, multi-platform and user-friendly software project designed from the ground up for users who want to diagnose their TCP/IP network connection errors.

Features at a glance

With this program, you can debug and diagnose network interfaces, debug email connections, debug database connections, debug LDAP connections, debug Internet relay chat (IRC) connections, debug Usenet connections, as well as to detect network intrusion attempts.

What New in Why Can’t I Connect? 1.11.0
  • Added the “Check WiFi / Wired Network Login” menu item to the tools menu and button to the toolbar. This function launches the default router login / TOS (Terms Of Service) IP address in your preferred browser
  • Added a check to see if the error pattern of a possible incomplete WiFi / wired network login is detected on any connection and ask if you would like to launch the default router login
  • Added some minor optimizations
  • Fixed some minor bugs

Ubuntu 32 bit :
$ sudo wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/whycanticonnect/Release-1.11.0/whycanticonnect_1.11.0-1_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i whycanticonnect_1.11.0-1_i386.deb

Ubuntu 64 bit :

$ sudo wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/whycanticonnect/Release-1.11.0/whycanticonnect_1.11.0-1_amd64.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i whycanticonnect_1.11.0-1_amd64.deb

In case “dpkg” indicates missing dependencies, complete the installation by executing the following command:
$ sudo apt-get install -f

Install Why Can’t I Connect? 1.11.0 on Fedora 19 & Fedora 20


Fedora 32 bit :
$ wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/whycanticonnect/Release-1.11.0/WhyCantIConnect-1.11.0-1.i686.rpm
$ sudo yum WhyCantIConnect-1.11.0-1.i686.rpm

Fedora 64 bit :

The source is available now. Binary packages are in the process of being built, and will appear soon at their respective download locations.
